The SPA Hotel in Sharjah is conveniently located on an island in the middle of the cities bay. Architecturally speaking the project is divided into two main elements: The base containing the majority of the SPA facilities and the tower area with the hotel rooms, in form of a tower. Both areas are geometrically connected in a continuous way, creating swelling lines emerging from the ground and splicing in the tower section to provide various conditions of illumination. The base forms an introverted area, which is primarily illuminated from the top and from the lush green courts. The Fibrous splicing of the tower provides excellent illumination for the hotel rooms. The angle and depth of the individual fibers are controlled by environmental conditions, i.e. the solar radiation on the façade, providing an energy-saving, green façade.
